The fifth Tawakkol Karman Intensive English Scholarship, for a year and a half, is offered to 3,000 young men and women from the following countries: Yemen, Iraq, Syria, Palestine, Egypt, Sudan, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Mauritania, and Turkey. The Future Leaders Program aims to help young people acquire the qualifications and skills necessary to enter selective colleges and secure desirable employment.

Tawakkol Karman Scholarships Fully Funded Scholarships For the 2025 English Language Course, online (distance) learning systems will be used, and students are expected to use these systems continuously throughout their studies. There will be a total of 25 hours of study per week, distributed as follows: 3 hours per day, 5 days per week.

Conditions for applying for the Tawakkol Karman Scholarship

  1. Holds the equivalent of a high school diploma (at least).
  2. The candidate must be under 50 years old.
  3. Include a copy of a current, valid government-issued photo ID.
  4. The student's dedication to participating in all events, activities, and training programs required for the English Language Diploma.

Tawakkol Karman Scholarships 2025 Benefits

The English Language Scholarship includes the following benefits:

  • Intensive Diploma in English Language Learning.
  • Tuition waiver for the diploma. The cost of taking either the TOEFL or IELTS test is fully covered by a single application, provided the candidate achieves a score of at least 70 on the TOEFL test, 5 on the IELTS Academic, and 6 on the IELTS General Training.
  • The Intensive English Diploma includes 12 training and certification opportunities. There are 12 certificate programs (6 for youth work readiness and 6 for democracy and peacebuilding).

  1. The Tawakkol Karman Scholarship for the Leaders for the Future Intensive English Diploma Program requires that you meet all eligibility requirements before enrolling.
  2. Applicants must be citizens of one of the countries listed in the announcement.
  3. All fields in the application must be completed in English, and all warnings and comments must be read.
  4. Read and sign the Grant Agreement and Confidentiality Agreement completely.
  5. You can only submit one application via email.
  6. Academic credentials for scholarships will only be granted if the information you provide in the application form is consistent with the information provided in the supporting documents (passport/ID card, certificates).
  7. All essential attachments must be uploaded in PDF format to the specified folder and must be submitted in their original language without translation.
  8. The student is required to use the online distance learning system in the courses.

Who is Tawakkol Karman?

Tawakkol Karman is a journalist, politician, and human rights defender in her home country of Yemen. As the chair of the group she co-founded in 2005, "Women Journalists Without Chains," she is a vocal advocate for the rights of women journalists as part of the 2011 Arab Spring uprisings and a recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize.

Tawakkol Karman, born in Sana'a, Yemen, received her undergraduate education at the University of Science and Technology and graduated with a degree in political science from Sana'a University. The University of Alberta in Canada awarded her an honorary doctorate in international law in 2012.
